Downtown Yoga In The Park

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - More than 200 people turned out for Downtown Yoga in the park Tuesday. The event is a free weekly yoga session at the Mississippi River Park sponsored by the Downtown Memphis Commission.

Classes are taught by Downtown Yoga and are scheduled every Tuesday at 6.pm. All yoga sessions are open to anyone and everyone.

"This class is all about providing free, affordable, accessible yoga to anyone who can make it," said Charlie Graham. "That's all you have to do is show up, and you get yoga and a promise you can do it, and you'll feel better after."

The Downtown Memphis Commission encourages everyone to come out explore all that the Bluff City has to offer while staying fit.

"One thing I love is you get to experience yoga in an open atmosphere with the sky," said Kanesha McBee. " You get to meditate internally, and you can do this with a whole bunch of people you didn't even know."

The Downtown Memphis Commissions asks people planning to attent to bring their mat or towel, water, and sunscreen.

Extra mats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Yoga will take place on the grassy area.
