Fireworks On The Farm Holds Fifth Annual Firework Show

HERNANDO, Miss. (localmemphis.com) - HERNANDO, MS (localmemphis.com) --- Family, friends and fireworks! People across the Mid-South are celebrating the holiday weekend in a variety ways. Fireworks On The Farm held it's fifth annual firework display.  The event attracted hundred of people from across Mississippi and the surrounding areas.

 

"This is just good wholesome family fun," said Stacie Taylor. "This is our second year coming."

 

Taylor and her family watched the firework display from the same spot as last year.

 

"This is a great spot," said Michael Taylor. "We can see the fireworks perfectly from where we are."

 

The event has become a yearly tradition for friends and it also raises money for charity.

 

"All of our proceeds from the event go to the Palmer House for Children," said Robert Foster. "You see so many families coming out, laying down blankets and supporting the community. It's really wonderful.

 

Memphis FX put on the fireworks display for the fifth straight year. Crews told Local 24 News they used close to 800 pounds of fireworks and four pounds of explosives. Crews with Love Fire Department were also on hand for emergencies.

 

The firework display lasted 15 minutes.

 

"This is just a great way for our family to come out and pay tribute to the brave men and women of our country," said Taylor.
