For The Second Day In A Row, The Search Is On For A Bear In Frayser

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - For the second day in a row, Memphis police are searching for a black bear reportedly roaming around a Frayser neighborhood.

Police say about 9:00 a.m. Friday morning, they began receiving new calls about a bear seen in the 3100 block of Range Line Road. Thursday, the bear was spotted near Alta Vista.

Nearby Lucy Campbell Elementary on Birchfield has been notified as a precaution. Patrol officers are stationed at the school for now.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is on the scene, with Memphis police assisting.

 

If you spot the bear, call 911 immediately. Do not try to approach, capture, or feed the bear yourself.
