Four Fraternities Suspended By University Of Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - Four University of Memphis fraternities, including a co-ed business fraternity, have been suspended for violations including hazing as well as drug and alcohol use.

The Dean of Students said an investigation and formal hearing led to the fraternities' suspensions.

The suspended organizations are business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi, Alpha Tau Omega, Pi Kappa Alpha, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

Each fraternities' violations range from verbal threats, hazing to possessing alcohol, and drugs.

The business fraternity's suspension lasts until the end of the summer.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon is suspended until the end of 2021. Alpha Tau Omega and Pi Kappa Alpha are suspended until December 2022.
