Free Mulch For Frayser Residents While Supplies Last

(NEWS RELEASE) - Memphis Wrecking Company (MWC) is offering free mulch to Frayser residents while supplies last.

In result of the historic storm that hit Memphis last month, MWC is working to recycle the excess of trees brought to their facility from the Frayser/North Memphis area.

“It’s important to us to see what was taken away from Frayser after this storm be put back into the ground for regrowth,” says Steve Williamson, President of MWC. “We want to help our community recover from this storm, not worsen because of it.”

MWC, has been operating in Memphis for over 85 years, with its current Class III landfill being in Frayser for nearly a decade. Class III landfills provide communities an essential resource to reduce illegal dumping by housing construction waste and tree debris.

“Rather than just recycle the mulch at our facility, we would rather see Frayser residents use it to beautify our community, planting in their yards, surrounding neighborhoods, and community areas,” says Williamson.

Those wishing to utilize this resource must be able to pick up and load the mulch. They will welcome residents to The MWC Landfill and Recycling Center located at 2948 North Thomas Street from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
