Germantown Planning Commission To Take Up Proposal For Trader Joe's Tuesday Night

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - The Germantown Planning Commission is meeting Tuesday night, and on the agenda is a development which would house a new Trader Joe’s location.

City leaders say the latest plan from the developer, Centennial American Properties, moves Trader Joe’s into an existing building on the proposed site at the old Kroger store on Exeter Road. They say the change will allow the new store to open more quickly.

If approved by the planning commission, the city’s design review board will then consider the façade plans as early as January 24th. Final approval must come from Germantown’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

“We would like to thank the Planning Commission, the development staff and the City of Germantown for their professionalism and service to the community. We are excited to get started and our tenants are eager to dig in and get open in 2017,” said Brody Glen, president of Centennial American Properties, LLC, based in Greenville South Carolina.

In addition to Trader Joe’s, the site also includes space for other retail shops. Centennial also plans to move forward with another building for phase two of the development, with an additional 19,000 square feet of retail space.
