Local Musician Hopes To Make His Mark On ABC's Boy Band

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - Memphis musician Dorian Tyler is ready to take your vote to be the next Boy Band musical sensation. It's a new show set to premier Thursday night on Local 24.

Local Memphis Live host Amy Speropoulos sat down with the 15-year-old musician Wednesday morning.

Tyler started performing in church at the age of 5. Dorian says growing up in north Memphis has been tough and he hopes this attention will lead to a career and a new life for his family. He also says getting his music out there means getting a message of hope to other kids going through tough times.

“It was awesome, something I've never done. We did session jams, we sat there and sang together and we never practiced or nothing, we sounded so good together. I've never experienced it before,” says Tyler. “Stay off the streets, stay focused on your work, stay focused on your education and put GOD first.”

You can see and vote for Memphis' own Dorian Tyler on the 2-hour premiere of Boy Band with host Rita Ora Thursday night on Local 24.
