Mail Carrier Attacked; Search Underway For Suspects

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - Memphis police are investigating after a mail carrier was attacked while on his route Tuesday morning.

It happened about 11:30 a.m. at the Highlands Meadows Apartments, in the 5100 block of Village Pines.

The U.S. Postal Service tells Local 24 it was an unprovoked attack. They say a suspect approached the letter carrier, assaulted him, and took off. Nothing was stolen.

The carrier suffered minor injuries and taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

The suspect is described as 6’1” to 6’2”, about 200 pounds with short hair and a light mustache. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a red design on it and black pants.
