Memphis Animal Services Offering $31 Adoptions Through End Of Year

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - Memphis Animal Services needs your help! The shelter wants 5,500 animals adopted by the end of the year. As of Thursday morning, 5,407 animals had been adopted or transferred out of MAS. Then, another 39 were adopted and transferred. That means 54 still need to be adopted.

There are three days left in 2016, and MAS is offering a special promotion to make sure these dogs and cats find a good home. All adoptions through the end of the year are only $31.

"We are calling on this community now that Christmas is over, that will bring some people out, today is the day,” says MAS Director Alexis Pugh.

This year, MAS has improved their live release rate of animals. In November, the rate was an all-time high of 84%. The shelter says it's ultimate goal is to not have to euthanize animals for space. That is why adopting is so important.
