Memphis Police Need Your Help In Finding A Hit And Run Driver

MEMPHIS, TENN (localmemphis.com) - Memphis Police are still searching for the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in Midtown Wednesday night.

The incident happened around 9:00 p.m.  Wednesday near Madison Avenue and Morrison Street.

Witnesses painted a chaotic scene after they say a silver Ford Mustang hit Chris Phillips, as he and a woman walked north to cross Madison Ave.

According to witnesses, the Mustang, which was traveling east on Madison Ave., paused but did not stop after hitting Phillips.

Instead, the driver kept going toward East Parkway.

Local attorney Jason Whitworth was there and said he saw two women give Phillips CPR before paramedics arrived.

 Phillips died at Regional One.

"I think it was somebody that was intoxicated if I had to guess because you don't just go through a busy entertainment district like that and plow somebody down and keep going," said Whitworth.

If you have any information on the silver Mustang or driver in this case you're asked to call the Memphis Police.
