One Dead, Drunk Driver Identified In Car Crash On I-40

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - One person is dead after a head on car crash on I-40 Sunday morning.

Police say it happened west of Covington Pike around 2:45 a.m.

According to MPD, 24-year-old Jose Rodriguez has been charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, financial responsibility, no driver’s license, reckless driving, and public intoxication.

Officers say one of the drivers was dead when they arrived on the scene and Rodriguez was in non-critical condition.
