Peabody Duck March Honors Breast Cancer Survivor

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Peabody Hotel has been going pink all month to help find a cure, including a special duck march Thursday morning.

Linda Herring was the honorary Duckmaster for the march. Herring has been a breast cancer survivor for six and a half years.

The hotel lobby was also decorated in pink for the duck march. Herring says the event shows what is possible after receiving that initial diagnosis.

“You put your faith in God first. Then you find the best doctors and facilities that you can find,” says Herring. “You pray and God willing, you end up six and a half years later walking ducks."

Douglas Browne, the president of Peabody Hotels & Resorts, is also wearing pink every day in October as part of the American Cancer Society's Real Men Wear Pink fundraising campaign.
