Student Charged With Vandalism For Spray Painting Principal's SUV

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - A Trezevant High Student is charged with vandalism after police say he admitted to spray painting his principal’s SUV, calling it a “senior prank.”

Johnathan Gatewood is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.

The principal told police the vandalism happened between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. They say surveillance video showed two boys spray painting the SUV.

The principal says the vandalism cost more than $2500 to repair.

Police have not said if the second boy has been arrested.
