Suspect Charged In Home Invasion Robberies

MEMPHIS, Tenn (localmemphis.com) - Memphis Police have been investigating several home invasion robberies in east Memphis area. 

Two of the incidents occurred in the Chatham Village apartments in the 5900 block of Noyes Court.

In these cases, the homeowner was confronted in the middle of the night by a male who demanded money. In one case the victim was forced into a vehicle and driven to an ATM machine.

On August 9, Memphis Police Officers observed a male driving a vehicle that was taken in the second home invasion on Noyes Court. 

The subject attempted to elude police but was taken into custody by officers of the Mt Moriah Station in the 5900 block of Park Ave.

Joshua Simpson, 20, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, multiple counts of Aggravated Burglary, Robbery, and Evading Arrest.

This investigation is ongoing, additional charges are pending.
