Suspect In Holly Springs Homicide Turns Himself In

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss (localmemphis.com) - A man is dead after an early morning shooting in Holly Springs.

Friday morning around 2:40, Holly Springs Police responded to a call that a man who had been shot in the 300 block of North Walthal.

When Officers arrived on scene, they found 20-year old Carlos Chairez shot multiple times in an SUV behind the house.  Chairez was dead on the scene.

According to Holly Springs Police Chief Dwight Harris, the suspect, 20-year old Judaryl Holloway turned himself in, about 2 hours after the shooting.

Investigators have determined that the two men were at a party at a different location earlier Thursday night when a fight broke out.  They believe Holloway followed Chairez to North Walthal and shot him.

The investigation is ongoing.
