Trezevant To Resume Season After TSSAA Says No Violations Were Found

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - (localmemphis.com) - Shelby County Schools leaders say the TSSAA is reporting no violations have been found involving the Trezevant High football team, and the team will resume the remainder of the 2016 football season.

In a statement released Tuesday, SCS says:

“The District is diligently working to complete its investigation at Trezevant High School; therefore, no details about the outcome of the District’s investigation are available at this time.  The TSSAA, however, has reported that no violations have been found involving the Trezevant football team, so practices have resumed and the team will play out the remainder of the 2016 football schedule.  The only game this season the team will have to forfeit is the September 29th game against Memphis Academy of Health Sciences.”

At least two Trezevant High School coaches were suspended after the school reported grading discrepancies to the TSSAA. Head football coach Teli White and girls’ basketball coach Brandon Hill are suspended while officials investigate. Trezevant originally forfeited all football games played so far this season, and future games until the investigation is completed.
