MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - UPDATE:
Two people were critically injured near Wooddale High School Sunday following a shooting and car crash.
Memphis Police were responding to a shooting call on Castleman Street, when they arrived they found a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria wrecked into a tree.
The driver, a 21-year-old man, was injured from the crash and his passenger, a 21-year-old woman had been shot.
Neighbors near the scene said they heard 8 to 9 gunshots.
The shooting victim told police an unknown suspect shot at her from a black Cadillac Esclade and drove away.
Both the driver and passenger were taken to Regional One in critical condition.
As investigators gathered evidence, the crime scene stretched from the front of Wooddale High School to a couple blocks north where it appeared shell casings were found.
Neighors were taken aback by the large police presence in what they say is a mainly quiet street.

"I was like 'Oh my gosh something really bad has happened,'" said Rachel Richardson.
"It was pretty shocking to see something like that happen, you know, just hoping that everybody's okay," said Thomas James.
As of Sunday night Memphis Police said no one was in custody.
Memphis Police now say a 21-year-old female was shot, and a 21-year-old male was injured in a related car crash. Both are in critical condition.
Two people are in critical condition after being shot this afternoon near Wooddale High School.
Memphis Police responded to a call at 3:41pm that multiple people were shot in the 3300 block of Castleman. They say a male and female suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to Regional One.
No one is custody at this time as police continue their investigation.
