Volunteers Build New Playground For Local Kids

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - More than 200 volunteers came together Friday to give local kids the childhood they deserve.

Volunteers worked with KaBOOM organizers to build a new playground at Circles of Success Learning Academy on South Parkway. The design is based on children's drawings that were created during a special design event last month.

Because of the high volume of traffic in the area, play spaces are few and far between. The playground will be available to more than 400 kids.

"We are building a playground!” says Rev. Marilynn S. Robinson, Chair of Circle of Success Learning Academy Board. “We're building a playground where these children can be challenged on, can be excited about, and go ahead and learn, as well as experience, something different, something new.”

Since 1996, KaBOOM has built, improved, and opened nearly 17,000 playgrounds to serve 8 and a half million children.
