West Memphis Murder Suspect Turns Himself In To Police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - West Memphis Police say a suspect in a deadly shooting Tuesday night has turned himself in to officers. They say 26-year-old Carlton Barrett faces charges of first degree murder and felon in possession of a handgun.

Police say Barrett is suspected of shooting 22-year-old Demetrius Hoard about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Riverside Apartments in the 3900 block of East Service Road. Hoard was taken to Regional One, where he later died.
