"White Lives Matter" Rallies Planned For Two Middle Tennessee Towns

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - There’s backlash in two Middle Tennessee towns that are preparing for white nationalist rallies.

White Lives Matter rallies are planned in both Shelbyville and Murfreesboro at the end of the month.

Business owners are working to convince their city council members to cancel those plans. They say the rallies are putting a dark mark on their towns.

"To stand in front of a crowd and proclaim that there is a superior race and I am part of it and no one else should have a citizenship, that is definitely going back," says Sharon Edwards.

A counter rally which aims to spread unity and hope is in the works in Shelbyville.
