Young Man From Memphis Going To Scotland To Fight In Tae-Kwon-Do Tournament

MEMPHIS, TENN, (localmemphis.com) - A child from the Bluff City is getting a chance to take his Tae-Kwon-Do skills across the pond to Europe.
 
11- year- old Reginald Sykes is a second- degree black belt student, who has been studying for just a few years.
 
He's headed to Scotland to compete in an international competition.
 
Sykes teacher is Larry Hunter of Sober House.  He says his mission is taking kids from tough neighborhoods and help them achieve their dreams.
 
Hunter, tells Local 24, " I just love the kids keeping them out of 201 Poplar makes a difference if I can turn one life around that's just making me feel good right there.  I believe my purpose is to make a difference, and that's why I'm here tonight,">
 
 Hunter says he hopes Sykes takes his skills to the big screen and will maybe one day star in a movie.
