SLAYDEN, MS – The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Four people were shot along U.S. Highway 72 near Slayden, Mississippi.
All four victims were inside a car. One person died at the scene. The others were taken to hospitals in Memphis.
Investigators are looking for a green Honda Accord which could be from the Memphis area.
The shooting followed a fight at a nearby travel center.
According to Kelly McMillen with the Marshall County Sheriff's office, "We just got a make and model and a color of the vehicle from a source we believe is pretty good information, but the quicker we find that vehicle and ID who was in that vehicle, then we will go to another level in our investigation."
Officers are looking through surveillance video from businesses near the shooting for clues.
