MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Two men have been arrested for holding dog fights with pit bulls in a North Memphis neighborhood on Sunday, November 13, 2011.
An affidavit says police were called by a witness who said a dog fight was in progress in the 900 block of N. Second Street. When police arrived on the scene, the witness told them he saw three men antagonizing several brown pit bulls, trying to get them to fight. The witness said the men were using a black and white pit bull as bait, which led to the dogs fighting each other.
Police found one of the brown dogs and the black and white dog in the area with injuries from fighting.
Two men, 36-year-old Charles Cross and 41-year-old Lindell Tanner, were arrested and charged with animal fighting.
