JACKSON, Miss. (AP, abc24.com) - Hinds County Sheriff's Office deputies say a woman who was apparently in possession of the wrong phone number repeatedly called and texted a deputy, offering to sell him painkillers.

Deputies said the woman was ignored as a prankster after her first Tuesday night telephone call. But she eventually was arrested after investigators arranged a meeting. She allegedly tried to sell 30 hydrocodone pills.

The woman was booked with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Sixty-one-year-old Judy Weible was being held Thursday at the Hinds County Detention Center where she was awaiting the setting of an initial court appearance. The sheriff's office has no information available whether she had an attorney who could comment on the case.

People who leave stupid comments such as these have obviously lost something within themselves that makes them almost worse than a perp trying to sell pills on the streets. Knowing how bad the world's economy is and the stress it nost certainl;y is putting on people, especially those in the low-income brackets. This case scenario could very well be where an elderly woman is living on a meager income & strapped for the cash it takes to keep from being put on the street. Yeah, it does not make it right but look at certain situations as if it were you or in this case, your mother or grand-mother to whom you refused to help out financially because you are too strapped for cash as well!) I feel for many people, especially the elderly who tend to be left behind and forgotten by younger members of their family...especially during hard times such as these! Have a heart while saying your peace, at least!
