MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Little Rock police are calling 33-year-old Antonio Whitlow a cold-blooded killer. Whitlow is accused of killing his parents in Little Rock Saturday afternoon and then kidnapping is 12-year-old sister. The two were found in Memphis late Saturday night.
Monday, Whitlow appeared in a Shelby County courtroom. In addition to the murder charges in Arkansas, Memphis police have been looking for him too.
Wearing his jailhouse blues, Antonio Whitlow had plenty to say as he stood in front the judge. The suspected double murderer stated he does not have a lawyer.
Whitlow was arrested Saturday night on an outstanding warrant stemming from an alleged aggravated assault earlier this year on May 11.
According to police, Whitlow stabbed 30-year-old Anthony Banks in the back with a butcher knife. Police say it started with a fight between the two men at a house on Elvis Presley. In that case, Whitlow pled guilty and spent a month in jail after admitting he threatened Banks.
Little Rock police say Whitlow did more than threaten his parents, Bobby and Annette Whitlow, on Saturday, July 28. They say he killed them and kidnapped his 12-year-old sister, prompting an Amber Alert for the girl.
They were both found walking along Beale Street Saturday night. That's when police locked Whitlow up.
Whitlow's bond was set at $50,000 and he's scheduled to be back in court August 6, if he's still in Memphis. Whitlow is awaiting extradition back to Little Rock to face two capital murder charges.
