MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - After a mess of an election, Shelby County's top election official says he's not worried about losing his job.

"No, I am not, because we do the job to the best it can be done," Richard Holden, Shelby County Election Administrator, said Thursday evening.

For the first time since election issues surfaced during early voting, the Shelby County Election Commissioners met Thursday evening, without really giving a hint of the issues that plagued voters.

In fact, the issues were barely discussed.

"I don't think it is appropriate to address August until we have completed an audit and an investigation," said Holden.

Late last month, the Tennessee Secretary of State asked the state Comptroller to investigate the Election Commission, citing a history of problems.

"To do a real audit and a real investigation is what we need," Holden said. "We don't need everybody trying to put their two cents worth in and guess what happened."
