What are the gay kids supposed to do, since they can't get married?

vwier1962, WTF are you talking about? Saying "don't do this because I said so" isn't educating anyone. They need to actually educate these kids and arm them with knowledge so that they understand what the consequences are. I'm all for telling kids to wait until they are married, but this is the REAL WORLD we're talking about here. Teenagers are going to have sex regardless of what they are told and anyone who thinks otherwise is either very stupid or very confused.

I am so happpy to hear this! If just one teen pregnancy is prevented, it will have been worth having the class. So many teens these days listen only to their hormones and don't use good sense and thought before making the decision to have sex. In a world where even prime time TV commercials promote sex, it is so refreshing to know that something will be done in a positive motion to help educate our young people.

This is obscenely backward. How is it that the schools actively choose ignorance over knowledge? I'm so ashamed of my southern accent right now.

while every other state is at least attempting to move forward, Mississippi is regressing into the dark ages. Ever wonder why your state has high crime rates, low education scores, low college graduates? Because sheltering yourselves from the real world DOESNT WORK. Might as well start teaching kids how to dig a hole in the sand to bury their heads in. These kids will be so ill prepared for adulthood, no wonder your state is so behind the rest of the nation.
