MEMPHIS, TN - The Salvation Army is activating their annual Angel Tree phone bank on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, and it will remain open through Friday, September 9th.
Parents or guardians of children who are 12 years old and under, with a social security number and are recipients of reduced-price or free school lunches, can call to register their kids for the program. Children who were recipients of Angel Tree gifts in 2010 are not eligible in 2011.
Angel Tree provides Christmas gifts to children and seniors in The Salvation Army's service area, which includes 8 counties in West Tennessee, North Mississippi and East Arkansas.
Phone lines are open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the days of operation. To register your child for the Angel Tree program, call (901) 543-0880 beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7th.
