Animal Hoarder Shot By MPD Officers

MEMPHIS, TN--A Cordova animal hoarder was shot and killed by police officers late Friday evening.

Memphis police officers were called to the home of Donald Moore at 10038 Cameron Ridge Trail around 6:30 p.m. after neighbors and Memphis Animal Service employees reported threats by the homeowner. Memphis Animal Services was at the home to serve a warrant. Once inside the home, the Moore pointed a gun at officers. Officers fired shots at Moore, striking and killing him.

An MPD spokesperson says that Donald Moore's house was filled with dogs, cats, raccoons, opossums and chickens.
