Attorney Seeks Deal in Thaddeus Matthews Porn Case

Talk show host Thaddeus Matthews is one step closer to going to trial. The self-proclaimed bad boy of radio waived a preliminary hearing Thursday on child pornography charges.
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Talk show host Thaddeus Matthews is one step closer to going to trial. The self-proclaimed bad boy of radio waived a preliminary hearing Thursday on child pornography charges.

Matthews is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

The charges came after he posted an image on his Facebook page of a child being forced to perform a sex act on a man.

He claims he did it to help find the man and identify the child. Now his lawyer, Steve Farese, is trying to work out a deal with prosecutors before the case goes to trial.

"The difference is this is not your run of the mill porn case," Farese stated. "This is a case where a man is trying to vilify those who did it he just went about it the wrong way."

The normally outspoken Matthews did not talk to reporters as he left the courtroom.

Farese plans to meet with prosecutors in the coming weeks.
