MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - With sales abound, shoppers are taking advantage of Black Friday.

We all know that Black Friday shopping can often be like stepping onto a battlefield. The holiday bargain hunt is easier for some than others, and one group of dedicated shoppers will tell you there's strength in numbers.

“Our strategy is to dress alike, hit the Starbuck's and take turns standing in these very long lines,” said Breanna Pollet of Girlie Girl Originals.

The ladies of Girlie Girl Originals have Black Friday figured out. They show up with a plan and often a chair.

Girlie Girl's Denise Smith carries a portable stool. "They offer me thousands of dollars for my chair. I still have my chair," she said.

The long lines, whether inside or out, have become synonymous with Black Friday. Many wait hours for stores to open so they can grab door buster deals.

“I'm getting a TV that's half off. It's going to be 800 dollars normally but it's at 400 right now,” said shopper Andrew Cartwright.

Every year, gadgets are all the rage. But whoever said they're limited to games and flat screens?

“This is one of our mostly plastic helicopters. Very durable very strong. Most of them have lights to make flying at night possible and we also have ones that have cameras,” said Andy Mansfield of UJ Toys.

I spy a deal. The camera-equipped toy choppers are on sale till Christmas.

While the big box stores get much of the glory on Black Friday, shopping malls are also ones offering deep discounts.

“Every store has their own special sale going on, door busters and all other sorts of great items,” said Lexi Harris of Woldchase Galleria.

Many are taking advantage. The hunt for bargains is enough to leave anyone pooped. Ever heard the phrase shop till you drop?

“The best deal of the night is this chair right here,” Andy Lumley said, referencing the massage chair in which he found temporary relief.

But the truth is Black Friday shopping is much like Thanksgiving feasting. No matter how full our bags and bellies, we always come back for more.
