MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A carjacking suspect is in police custody after he threatened to jump off an I-240 overpass, shutting down the interstate Thursday morning.

Memphis police were called to a carjacking on the 6100-block of Poplar Ave just after 5 a.m. on April 12. Investigators stated a taxi driver was struck in the head with a brick by the suspect, who then took off in the taxi cab. A broadcast of the vehicle was issued, and police found the taxi about 20 minutes later behind a convenience store at Perkins and American Way.

The suspect fled from the taxi on foot with officers in pursuit. As soon as the suspect reached the Perkins overpass at I-240 he stepped out on the ledge and threatened to jump. Traffic was shut down until the suspect was taken into custody just after 7 a.m.

p.o.s. coward - you should have jumped. instead you choose to disrupt the lives of thousands over the possibility of you taking yours. when in the end had you killed yourself NO ONE would have given a rats azz.
