MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Joe Caronna, accused of killing his wife, Tina, was back in court on December 15, 2011 asking a judge to move his murder trial out of Memphis.

Joe Caronna is charged with first-degree murder and will have his trial in Memphis, the judge ruled. Defense attorneys argued that past local media coverage depicted their client as already guilty, and requested that the trial be moved to Nashville. The judge saw it differently, and ordered jury selection to begin on January 23rd.

Tina Caronna was murdered in October 2008. She was found dead in the backseat of her SUV, which was left in a northeast Memphis residential neighborhood.

Joe Caronna has been held without bond since his arrest in spring 2009.

He also faces 63 counts of insurance fraud, mail fraud and money laundering in connection with his former job as an insurance broker.
