City Teams Up With Assistance Corporation To Help Homeowners

The city of Memphis is teaming up with the "Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America" to help struggling homeowners.
MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - The city of Memphis is teaming up with the "Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America" to help struggling homeowners.

Mayor AC Wharton announced an upcoming foreclosure prevention event Tuesday afternoon at City Hall.

Homeowners will be able to get information on how to reduce their mortgages.

People looking to become homeowners will also find useful information.

The "American Dream Wvent" begins Thursday morning at the Cook Convention Center.

It runs through Monday, August 26th.

The doors will be open 8 am-6 pm each day and it's free and open to the public.

The program helps homeowners save, on average, between $500 and $1,000 a month off their monthly mortgage payment.

It's a non-profit, HUD certified organization.
