TIPTON COUNTY, TN (abc24.com) - A Covington, Tennessee father is charged with shaking his 5-month-old son after he wouldn't stop crying.

Tipton County Sheriff's deputies were notified by Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis of a child admitted with injuries consistent with 'Shaken Baby Syndrome.' According to investigators, the child's mother brought him to Baptist Memorial Hospital Tipton on January 14, 2012 after her husband, Robert Daniel Brasch, told her the baby had fallen off the couch. The child was airlifted to Le Bonheur due to the severity of his injuries.

Doctors found the child's injuries could not have come from a fall and contacted authorities.

Upon questioning, 23-year-old Brasch admitted he had shaken the infant when he wouldn't quit crying. The mother was not home at the time of the incident.

Brasch is charged with Aggravated Child Abuse and is currently free on bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14th.

The baby was last reported in stable condition at Le Bonheur.
