Covington Man Sentenced for Attempted Murders

COVINGTON, TN (abc24.com) - A Covington, TN man will spend 18 years behind bars for a July 2011 shooting in Ripley that injured two people.

Davarius Datron "Nudy-B" Smith was sentenced Friday, September 14 in Lauderdale County Court on two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment and Employment of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.

Smith was also convicted in Tipton County for Attempted Voluntary Manslaughter, and faces additional charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Employment of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony and Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He will go to trial for those charges on January 7, 2013 in Tipton County.
