MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Deputies arrested a woman for a domestic stabbing incident in southeast Shelby County early Sunday morning.
Deputies were called to an apartment on the 8100-block of Waterford Circle near Hacks Cross Road and Bill Morris Parkway just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, July 1. When they arrived they found a man & woman fighting on the living room floor, and the man had a deep cut across his forehead and a stab wound on his left arm.
The victim, Mario Baker, told deputies that his on and off again girlfriend of six years, 38-year-old Yolanda Williams, had come by unannounced and he did not know why she attacked him. Investigators determined Williams came to deliver a large bundle of marijuana Baker had stored in the trunk of her car. When she walked into his apartment, he pushed her out and they began to fight which resulted in the stabbing.
Williams consented to a search of her vehicle, where deputies found over a pound and a half of marijuana, prescription cough syrup and $12,000 in cash.
Williams was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault/Domestic Violence. Charges are pending against Mario Baker as the investigation continues.
