Double Murder Suspect Injured in Suicide Attempt

FORREST CITY, AR (abc24.com) - The suspect in the fatal shooting of two people in Forrest City was taken to The MED in Memphis when police found him with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Forrest City Police were called to a shooting around 7:15pm on December 20, 2011. When they arrived on the scene, the found a male victim, identified as Larry Stacy, had been shot in the abdomen and chest. He was transported to Forrest City Medical Center where he later died.

Investigators developed 48-year-old Rolando Westbrook as a suspect, and found his vehicle at a residence in Hayes. When officers went in to the home, they found a female victim dead from gunshot wounds. They also found Westbrook, who appeared to have shot himself in the head but was still alive.

Westbrook was flown to The MED; the female victim's identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police initially issued an arrest warrant for Westbrook for First Degree Murder following Stacy's death. Additional charges could be added as the investigation continues.
