Double Shooting among Neighbors Leaves One Dead

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Police are investigating an attempted murder- suicide in northeast Memphis.

Officers were called to the 1800-block of Parnassus Street around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9. They found one victim fatally shot and a second victim seriously injured.

Investigators say the incident happened between neighbors. 61-year-old Robert Lumpkin confronted his neighbor about having an affair with his wife, and shot the man several times. Lumpkin then turned the gun on himself. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim, 46, was transported to The MED in extremely critical condition.
