MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Police have charged a man with Rape of a Child for sexually abusing his 11-year-old daughter.
Officers were called to the girl's school on January 17, 2012 after she confessed to a guidance counselor that she had been raped by her father the night before. The girl was taken to the Child Advocacy Center for a forensic interview, and told investigators that she had been having sexual intercourse with her father for four years.
The girl's parents were called to the Child Advocacy Center, and the father, 31-year-old Agustin Ibarra, was taken into police custody and advised of the accusations and his rights through an interpreter. Ibarra gave a written confession and was charged with Rape of a Child.
Agustin Ibarra is being held at the Shelby County Jail on $250,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 10th.
