TATE COUNTY, MS (abc24.com) - Fondling, sexual battery and child porn. A former high-ranking Mid-South Boy Scouts executive is charged with almost two dozen child sex abuse charges.
William Todd Brewer was indicted on 23 counts by a Tate County, Mississippi grand jury.
Brewer was arrested in Senatobia last July. At the time police knew of three victims. Now that number has jumped to five. All are under 16 years old.
Brewer faces 13 charges for fondling the teens and forcing four of them to have oral sex.
The crimes happened between May 1 and July 5, 2012.
Before his arrest, Brewer was a trusted member of the Boy Scouts in Northwest Mississippi. He worked as the Executive Director of the Chickasaw Council, overseeing scouts in five counties.
In addition to sex abuse, Brewer was also indicted for 10 counts of possessing child pornography
Brewer is being held without bond in Tate County Jail. His case will likely go to trial this summer. He faces up to life in prison.
