MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - A former Shelby County Sheriff's deputy has been indicted for influencing jurors and causing a mistrial.

A grand jury just indicted Charles Govan. He's charged with improperly influencing a juror while he was employed as a Homeland Security officer.

Investigators say Govan approached two jurors in the lobby of the CJC, and made comments regarding their trial. As a result, the judge declared a mistrial.

Govan was fired last month.
