BARTLETT, TN (abc24.com) - A Shelby County worker has been charged with Aggravated Sexual Battery involving a juvenile.

Joel Camp was arrested by Bartlett police on Thursday, July 19. Investigators say the charges stem from an incident that took place about ten years ago, when Camp allegedly touched a young girl inappropriately.

According to the police affidavit, the victim, now 17, told Bartlett officers that when she was in third or fourth grade, Camp would fondle her in her bedroom and the shower. The affidavit further states that Camp admitted to inappropriately touching the victim while washing her.

Police say additional victims and charges are possible as their investigation continues.

Camp is in custody on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.

According to county officials, Joel "Joey" Camp was a supervisor in Shelby County Fleet Services. He had worked for Shelby County government since 1993. Camp resigned from his position shortly after his arrest.
