Grizzlies Help Raise $20K For Officer's Family

The Memphis Grizzlies have helped raise $20,000 for the family of fallen Memphis Police Officer Martoiya Lang.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Grizzlies have helped raise $20,000 for the family of fallen Memphis Police Officer Martoiya Lang.

According to the Grizzlies, fans attending the Wednesday match-up against the Milwaukee Bucks donated $10,000 at the doors. The Grizzlies and SunTrust each donated an additional $5,000.

Lang was fatally shot last week after she and another officer entered a home in east Memphis to serve a drug-related search warrant.

She left behind four daughters, ages 2, 12, 13 and 14.

Also on Wednesday, the Grizzlies gave out a free pair of tickets to the first 1,000 Memphis Police and Fire Department officers at the FedExForum Box Office. The gesture was meant to honor Lang and to thank the men and women who protect and serve the Memphis community.
