Home Invasion Shooting Leads to School Lockdown

Evans Elementary School was placed on a security lockdown after a nearby home invasion shooting Tuesday afternoon.
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Evans Elementary School was placed on a security lockdown after a nearby home invasion shooting Tuesday afternoon.

According to Memphis police, four to five suspects kicked in the door of a home on the 2900-block of Basswood and fired shots into the residence. Nobody was injured. One of the victims inside the home ran around the corner to Evans Elementary for help, and the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Police state at least two suspects have been detained, and the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the victims and suspects. This investigation is still ongoing.

The lockdown was lifted around 2 p.m.
