MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Hostess workers across the country are on strike, including those at the downtown Memphis plant.

Members of the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union are in talks with the Irving, Texas-company over new contracts. Workers claim the contracts offered would mean both wage and benefit cuts.

In a statement, Hostess said the strike could force the company to liquidate its assets and lay off most of its 18,300-member workforce across the U.S.

This is really sad. I guess these people don't realize they are striking themselves right out of a job.... Having to take a paycut to keep your company in business, and you in a job is better than not having one..... I am praying for these people to see the light, especially if they have families.

Think my good deed for today will be to go lay in a good supply of Hostess snacks!
