Husband of Martoiya Lang Granted Control of her Estate

Darius Lang, the estranged husband of Memphis Police Officer Martoiya Lang, has been named executor of her estate.
MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Darius Lang, the estranged husband of Memphis Police Officer Martoiya Lang, has been named executor of her estate.

Lang told abc24.com he asked a Shelby County Probate Judge to name him executor because he needs to "take care of my wife's unfinished business as far as collectors and debt that she owes."

Officer Lang was killed December 14th after she, along with other members of MPD's Organized Crime Unit, served a drug warrant at a home on Mendenhall Cove. The 32-year-old left behind four daughters. Darius is the father of three of those girls.

At issue is more than $4,000 Darius says his wife has in a checking account he doesn't have access to and more than $20,000 that was raised at benefit concert last month.

Officer Lang's mother has filed a petition seeking to become the children's legal guardian.

As for the hundreds of thousands of dollars that's been raised for the girls, Darius Lang doesn't have access to any of that money.
