Judge Sought in Shelby County to Replace Higgs

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The search is on for a new judge in Shelby County after the death of W. Otis Higgs.


The Judicial Nominating Commission says it is accepting applications for the vacancy in the 30th Judicial District's Criminal Court.


Higgs died at his home Feb. 15. He was 75.


To be considered, an applicant must be an attorney who is at least 30 years old, a resident of Tennessee for five years and a resident of the district for one year.
