MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - Get ready for a chance to support local artists and Le Bonheur Children's Hospital this week.

The second annual "Art on the Sidewalk Festival" will take place at the Shops of Saddle Creek in Germantown this Friday and Saturday.

The Director of Art Development for Le Bonheur, Linda Hill, joins Local 24 Midday with more on the event.

More than three dozen area artists will be showing and selling their work on the sidewalk, and drawing on it to entertain and engage the public, as well as to compete for prizes. Visitors to the event will decide who wins them, with one dollar per vote (the proceeds of which will go to LeBonheur).

This year, there will also be art activities for grown-ups, as well as kids. Mom & Pop can enjoy an alfresco painting class with Pinot's Palette, while kids can participate in a range of art projects, including drawing their own sidewalk mural.

Many shopping malls might frown on having people draw on them, but Germantown's Saddle Creek is thrilled to provide the canvas, or in this case, sidewalk, to support Le Bonheur.

Art on the Sidewalk starts Friday June 14th, the hours on opening day are 1pm to 8pm; on Saturday, June 15th, the show will run from 10am to 4pm.
