MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A local tax preparation company is gave away free gas Saturday morning.
Tax Pros gave away a total of $8,000 worth of gas starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 1. The gas was distributed in $20 increments at two Shell stations adjacent to their business locations: 3084 S. Third Street and 4560 Millbranch Road.
The company's regional director, Leigh Greer, stated the purpose of the giveaway was to "spread holiday cheer."
A spokesperson for Tax Pros also said that "...over 600 cars were lined up at each location before 8:30 a.m. It took nearly five hours to get 200 cars through the gas pumps at the two locations."
Police were on hand to direct traffic. At least one person ran out of gas while waiting in line for the free gas.
